Satellite Island
Satellite Island is a private island inside of Prevost Harbor on the north side of Stuart Island. While there is not mooring on this island - See information on Stuart Island for moorings available at Prevost Harbor.
A little about the island….
Satellite island is 116.43 acres. There are no residents on the island. the island is owned by YMCA which has 5 campsites set up for their use (mostly for campers at Camp Orkila on Orcas Island)
Satellite Island was named to commemorate the ship (HMS Satellite) captained by the British naval officer Hames Charles Prevost which was stationed at Vancouver Island from 1857-1860.
